Though it may not be our favourite topic for discussion, it makes sense to give our own death some thought, to make sure we are properly prepared. During August and September Sally will be running a 4-week course to discuss the practicalities of dying (e.g. wills and funerals); the process of dying (palliative and spiritual care) and what happens after death. If you are interested in taking part please contact Sally revd.sally.robertson@nschurch.org.ukHow many days ’til Christmas?

- 15th December 10am Children’s Carol Service at St Andrew’s.
- 22nd December 6.30pm Carols by Candlelight at St Andrew’s.

National Prayer Weekend (NPW): 27-29th September 2019
What is National Prayer Weekend? CWR (a charity focused on applying God's Word to everyday life and relationships) believes that prayer is powerful, and we want to respond to God’s call to love our neighbours and the people around us. The concept is simple – ask people in your local area in schools, businesses, MPs, neighbours, etc, whether they would like prayer. Gather the prayer requests together and pray for them. You can pray as an individual, in small groups, or the whole church. We can host a prayer event such as a morning of prayer or 24/7 prayer room, prayer walks, gazebo of prayer in the local community, or any other ideas that are creative and can introduce people to Jesus.
After the weekend there are follow-up cards to let people know we have prayed and it is time to gather any stories to share as a result of the prayer.
We want to involve everyone in this event as everyone can pray. Please would you pray even as we organise this event for wisdom and favour in our community.
If you would like to be part of a team to organise the event, please contact Deborah Donohoe on 07960 255 831 asap and we will gather to discuss ideas and pray.
Care for the Family ‘Free to be’ event for Christian women at Steam, 15th October, 7pm
This event will explore how we can see ourselves from God’s perspective and get a clearer vision for what God had in mind when He uniquely created ‘me’. Free to Be is an event for all Christian women to come together, whatever circumstance or season of life you are in. Tickets are £4 before 31st July. Contact Sally if you’d like to go.
Prayer
Please pick up the new prayer cycle and particularly pray for wisdom to know how to grow Church at Tadpole Garden Village (TGV). Please join us to pray around TGV on Monday 12th August from 10am-12 noon. Please also pray for the PCC as it discusses St Andrew’s potential logo.

This online newsletter will be launching fully in September. Before then we would love to have your contributions. Please email contributions to Brian: brian@brianclegg.net – we’d like get as many as we can in by the end of August.
From the bustle of the Orbital Centre to the buzz of Tadpole Garden Village, somewhere to reflect and enjoy a spot of peace in North Swindon may seem hard to imagine, but St Andrew’s Church, tucked away in a green oasis off Tadpole Lane, is a secret surprise.
This lovely ancient church, with parts dating back 900 years is open from 10am to 1pm on 3 August, 7 September and 5 October. Visitors are welcome to look around the building, including the beautiful 1940s stained glass by Douglas Strachan, to have a cup of tea or coffee, or just to enjoy the tranquillity.
