Hymns for Holy Week and children

We are recording two new hymns for Holy Week, plus a new children's song.

Please get any recordings to Brian at brian@brianclegg.net by Saturday 20 March at the latest, but feel free to send them sooner as and when you have them. If you'd prefer to sing alto, tenor or bass, send an email and we'll add an accompaniment for that part.

The hymns are:

Just click the hymn name above to get the words and hear the accompaniment. Feel free to do either or both.

For the children's song, we'd love to have as many children as possible, but would like women's voices too: He's Got the Whole World in His Hands.

If you need any help, just drop Brian an email at brian@brianclegg.net

How to record
  • Sing along a couple of times to the accompaniment, until you feel comfortable with it.
  • Use headphones or earbuds to hear the accompaniment while you record (you may have to play the accompaniment on a separate device to the one you are recording on, but some have managed to record on their computer) - otherwise the accompaniment will record too loud in the background
  • Record yourself singing (here’s how below - you may also be able to record from your computer if it has a microphone)
  • If you have an iPhone, run the Voice Memos app
  • Record by pressing the round red button (the microphone is at the bottom of the phone)
  • Stop the recording by pressing the square red button
  • Re-record if you went wrong
  • Send it to us - the easiest way is to select the three dots ... button next to the piece you've recorded, then Share, choose your email (Mail) and email it to brian@brianclegg.net.
  • If you have an Android phone, run your voice recorder app (if you don’t have one pre-installed you can download one in the Play store)
  • Record by pressing the round red button (the microphone is at the bottom of the phone)
  • Stop the recording by pressing the square grey/black button
  • Re-record if you went wrong
  • Send it to us - the easiest way is to select the three dots ... button at the top of the screen then Share, choose your email and email it to brian@brianclegg.net
If you can't email from your phone, you can use the same Share method to get the recording into Facebook Messenger or another communications app and send it to yourself, then pick it up on a computer.
